Review on Omega 300 Lumens USB Rechargeable Bike Tail Light - Powerful Daylight Visible Bicycle LED Rear Light for Road, Mountain, City Commuting, and Adventure Cycling - Easy to Install, Enhanced Safety Flash by Blake Giordano

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Very bright, short battery life. UPDATE: Died 11 months later.

UPDATE: I'm downgrading this review from two stars to one star. He died about 11 months later. Nearing the end of the warranty but I didn't try to rush to see if the NiteRider lasted a year. All in all a piece of junk at this price point and a disgrace for what is considered a leader in the bike light industry. My other NiteRider taillights were better, the issue being another hard-to-turn switch (I sent the first Omega 300 back to have it replaced because of the same issue, but didn't mention it in my original review below.) Considering my reviews I just checked I will also caution against the fluff review. . There are a lot of really short 5 star reviews which I suspect are fake. So be careful. This flashlight is NOT rated 4 stars on average. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I can confirm the short battery life. I use the brightest flash setting and it lasts just over 2 hours. And it seems that if you use it for an hour or so one day after a full charge, and then use it again without charging, you're actually shortening the overall life between charges. The NR Aero 260 lasts much longer but charges faster after the same amount of use at maximum flash intensity. The flash is very bright. Brighter than others I have but doesn't seem bright enough. Until I see every stupid @#$ driver with three lanes to choose from with little or no traffic choosing a lane other than the one next to me on a too-narrow bike lane at night, I assume I'll need even brighter lights. to send a message. Neon sign on my back NO METAL SHELL! WITHOUT AIR BAG! NO SEAT BELTS! USE YOUR BRAIN! TRANSFORM! may be needed for the dumbest, but it will likely confuse them. more room. I agree it will be too bright for group rides unless the rider with that light stays behind. This level of brightness and higher IS are needed because distracted driving with mobile phones is much more common and idiotic drivers are much more common than they were decades ago. All road cyclists need to be visible to stay alive and this light is a worthy option for day or night. I can also confirm that the mount isn't the best. That's not bad, but then again, the Aero 260 is easy to put on and take off with the lightweight strap removed and all. I actually use an Aero 260 on the left seat, staying a few inches above the hub, while also using an Omega 300 on the seatpost. Again to stay alive.
