Review on πŸ”ͺ CMT 543 158 51 Mortise Chisel: Enhanced Precision for Clean and Accurate Mortises by Jason Ortiz

Revainrating 2 out of 5

not well suited for drill parts and accessories

Oh, and you get what you pay for, too. Push-in bits can easily cost $150, that was $20. So yeah, I saved money for it. The steel is really soft. Easy to blunt but also easy to sharpen which is a plus. I have a Powermatic Morticer and it doesn't fit the hubs as tightly as the Jet and Poermatic bits and understand they are from the same manufacturer. I also didn't feel like CMT wiped the chips. I heard that Lee Valley has a nice inexpensive thing that I'll try before investing a lot of money.

Pros
  • For chiseling and connecting with power and precision.
Cons
  • Slightly torn
