Works great on my Escalade ESV. The rear tail lift was raised about halfway and then closed due to failure of the old struts. After replacing both racks, everything works fine. The only significant difference between these posts and the OEM posts is that one end has about a 15° bend in the base area, but this doesn't seem to affect performance. It's everything anyway, so he should have a pretty good range of motion. Under $25 for a positive solution to anything car related is a thumbs up from me. Hope this helps someone.
