Keys can be programmed to unlock doors but they still need to be programmed with a transponder to start the car (I didn't know that). The locksmith cut a key (used it up until the 2004 Honda with no problems). But this time it got stuck in the ignition. They had to disassemble my steering column to get the key. They offered to try another key for free and it got stuck again. It's up to you to take the risk, save time and nerves and get the key from the one who will program it.
