The key fob comes with a battery. The key fob programs the car with no problems, but from time to time it is not possible to lock/unlock the car! The buttons on the key fob are not that strong. impressed. I will buy new button batteries and replace the ones that came with the trailer then reprogram into the car and see if performance improves. But until then I'll give it 2 stars.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • So-so

Works great with keyless entry systems

There are a few things you need to do to make it work. I only needed the FOB, not the key. I opened it up and put it in the already cut key. You can program the card to receive a lock and unlock signal. Then you have to go to a locksmith who has a computer to program the FOB to make the machine work. Without cutting the key, the locksmith charged me $60. New key, cutting, programming would cost me $180. It was worth it for me.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Not the best

Works as promised.: Keyless entry systems

I thought I had lost my only key to my 2008 Honda Accord. found but got scared and bought these keys. Today I programmed a key at a local locksmith. he could cut the key, program the transponder and he said he had a little trouble with remote access but he could program it too. I paid $30 for the laser cutting and $40 for the programming. He said if I bought the key from him it would cost 210, so a significant saving over the factory original.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Proceed with caution

Keys can be programmed to unlock doors but they still need to be programmed with a transponder to start the car (I didn't know that). The locksmith cut a key (used it up until the 2004 Honda with no problems). But this time it got stuck in the ignition. They had to disassemble my steering column to get the key. They offered to try another key for free and it got stuck again. It's up to you to take the risk, save time and nerves and get the key from the one who will program it.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • not everything fits

DO NOT BUY THIS KEY

Bought two of these, cut and keyed them for about $100. I thought it was pretty good compared to the dealer. A remote control stopped working after a day. The second worked a week. Then one day the car wouldn't start. I thought the problem was in the engine. Took it and paid another $100 to find out it was the key. Better go straight to the dealer. Now I have even more money because I still have to go to the dealer. Save yourself the hassle and just do it right from your Honda.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Good but not great

Keyless entry is nice to get back.

Both keys start the car perfectly after being programmed and trimmed by your local Honda dealer. Programming and installation costs were $88. I don't know if it's because it's an aftermarket key or if Honda doesn't know how to set up keyless entry, but it was incredibly easy to follow the instructions. And unlocks and locks the car perfectly, and also opens the trunk. That being said, Honda assured me that since it's an aftermarket key, it might not work. Look at the part number on the back of…

Items were dead and defective

When I asked the locksmith to program the remotes and keys we found that none of the remotes worked. It turned out that the batteries in both remote controls were dead! After changing the battery we were able to program one of the remotes but the other remote turned out to be defective and they were unable to program it. Update: The seller contacted me and refunded me for the defective item. However, I had to pay for dead batteries, but I am grateful to the seller who worked with me to give…
