I thought they cut things. Not as much. You're more likely to crumple the paper than cut it. a thread? Forget it! You end up tearing it apart, of course. The finger holes were tight and uncomfortable, like trying to work with children's scissors, even if they were a regular size. I put them in, waving my hand in panic and pain. And the black plastic that runs down the back of the blades separated from the blade after about six weeks and just stuck out and dangled and got in the way. I've hardly used them in the two months I've had them and when I've used them I've cursed endlessly. You are no more. I bought a pair of scissors at Walmart for $1.30 which are Wolverine claws compared to those butter knives and plastic.
