Sturdy construction. Assembly is easy. You will need 2 17mm box wrenches, a crescent wrench, a socket wrench or a combination of both. If you are using a 17mm socket just note that you will need a crescent or box wrench at the top of the lever as the upward angle of the lever does not allow enough clearance to insert into the socket. The point where the hitch goes into your receiver is not a 2" but a smaller square tube with a nylon grommet to make it a 2" square. There is a bolt fitted with a locking pin to keep it from loosening during transit. This locking pin didn't have enough play as the safety chain was attached to my receiver. If you have a similar situation, you will need to find another cotter pin or locking solution. The strut folds out to provide enough clearance to lower the truck's rear door. The bike racks are made of composite material (possibly nylon) with velcro straps to attach your bike's top tube to it and work properly.
