Could be stronger - Car carrier and brackets

It was pretty easy to fit so no complaints. I think it could have been done a bit better, for example the straps could have been done differently. This is fine for local travel, but not recommended for out-of-state travel.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • A few bits and pieces

As long as we have the right bike rack for our family

I like that I can still get in and out of the trunk after unloading the bikes (we took them with us). A little bike lube on the pin helps speed up the process, which is a plus! My friend's stance was a little easier to manipulate than mine, but had a better physique.

  • Comfortable

Don't scratch the car!

We bought several of these. My husband is a car geek and sent back four bike racks because they either scratched the car or were flimsy or some other reason. He loves this one. He bought two more. We now have a Lexus sedan, a GMC van and a BMW 325ci convertible. This works for EVERYONE. Connecting and setting up takes less than ten minutes. He endured several difficult trips from the Carolinas to Florida and back. It's strong and well made. The price is great for the quality.

Strong bike mount easy to install

I bought this for my Honda Pilot and it works like a charm. I am currently using it on 3 cars and have had no problems with it. The construction is very solid and holds multiple bikes very well. The bike strap is durable. I thought it would shake while driving, but it's very smooth. Some of the best features are that it folds up when not in use and it can be tilted so it doesn't block the trunk opening. Installation was fairly easy and well thought out. Overall this is a very well made bike…

Simple and stable bike rack for two bikes

I wish the manual said "use a wrench of this size" for installation. I had to try a few before I found the right size. 16/17mm if I remember correctly. It was easy to assemble. Several bolts and nuts. The part that attaches to the tow bar has a plastic/rubber part that adds volume to the metal frame. The metal frame does not cover the full width of the hitch. I love that the hitch can be quickly lowered or tilted to move the bike rack so I can open the trunk. It has a screw-in latch and the…

Quality bike rack suitable for outdoor recreation

I've spent over $500 on Yakima and Thule racks that I use at least 3-4 times a week. I was so excited I decided to try this rack as a backup for Yakima. It arrived a few weeks ago and I was so amazed by the quality and features after using it a few times that I had two bikes in the back, each costing more than my car, and I rode with friends at the weekend 300 miles round trip and race. I tested this pose this weekend and it is now my main pose. No problem with fat tires. No problem with uneven

Sturdy base hitch post with tilt function

Sturdy construction. Assembly is easy. You will need 2 17mm box wrenches, a crescent wrench, a socket wrench or a combination of both. If you are using a 17mm socket just note that you will need a crescent or box wrench at the top of the lever as the upward angle of the lever does not allow enough clearance to insert into the socket. The point where the hitch goes into your receiver is not a 2" but a smaller square tube with a nylon grommet to make it a 2" square. There is a bolt fitted with a…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Some bugs

I have used this bike rack to keep a couple of mountain bikes in working condition for a ride without to transport serious problems . although I ended up adding a hitch tensioner as it wobbled a bit on the freeway. Installation was easy but I wasn't sure at first as you use a plastic component to mount a real post to a 2" hitch. I thought it might be designed as a 1 1/4" rack with a plastic adapter for 2", but I tested it and it doesn't fit to 1 1/4" with just the metal part. The plastic part…
