A good connector needs the best epoxy in the kit

The automotive center of a large supermarket chain removed a screw in My Pan on my Ford Explorer. The next time I entered they refused to touch it and said the boat was stripped. I tried to explain to them that they only changed the oil and refused service. So I went back to my house and changed the oil again and the plug seems to be holding. The next time I wanted to do it myself I reinstalled the plug and this time removed it completely. In search of a solution I came across this Eco fork. Prime Shipping was quick and I was told to fix it. The kit comes with a very small amount of epoxy that needs to be finger smeared onto the screw before installation. Before I needed epoxy I felt it was quite hard. I needed epoxy and felt hard clumps in it. When I tried to put it on the boat carving it wouldn't end there. After having the exact same epoxy at the store, I cut a larger piece of the piece I wanted, put it on the threads and installed the screw. An hour later I filled in the oil and the bolt flowed pretty decently. So I drained the oil back into the reservoir, took the bolt out, cleaned everything up again and refilled with JB Quick 5 Minute Epoxy. I would recommend that the eco plug company not even ship the plugged epoxy, just recommend JB Weld to install their plug. It seems to work. I start the truck and stick cardboard underneath to see if there are any leaks and no drips yet. Four stars for addressing the epoxy, unplugging and reseating the connector. I would recommend Stub to just use JB Weld for your setup.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.
