I used this drive to replace a CD-ROM on my PC and now I have two DVD burners in my car, both Sony. I simply unplugged and removed the CD drive, plugged in and plugged back in the DRU-820A, turned on my computer and got to work. I have burned over twenty 16x DVDs since purchasing this drive last week and have had no problems. My other Sony DVD burner, the DRU-530A, has been running in my PC for two years now and is working perfectly, so I don't expect any reliability issues at this time.
