These assessments turned out to be correct. Yes, the back of the case is plastic, but that's okay. I suspect some buyers are expecting titanium at this price point. The front cover is durable, has a soft interior, faces the iPad screen, and offers a sleep/wake function. I surprised my wife with this product and she was more than satisfied. If you plan on making your iPad survive a nuclear blast, don't buy it. If you're looking for basic protection and comfort, you can't go wrong with this product.
