Review on Audio Technica AT LP60X Automatic Belt Drive Turntable by Katie Owens

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Home run for money!

Bought this as an extra player/speaker for my son to use downstairs in his music room. At 18 he was definitely addicted to vinyl. These are "actively connected speakers" where the back of the player connects directly to the left channel speaker. Thrre is the cable that connects the right and left speakers. Everything is there for a quick start. NO AMPLIFIER REQUIRED. If you're an advanced music lover who can throw away a lot of money, this probably isn't for you. If you're a beginner or an enthusiast looking to get back to vinyl, this is a great place to start spinning while you're hoarding or looking for better sound. It's automatic, which means you don't have to pick up the needle with your fingers, stick it in, and scratch the album. It will return automatically at the end of the recording. It's definitely a 5 if you look for it in the price range. Compared to more expensive turntables, you may be disappointed with the overly plasticky appearance. (The platter is a heavy aluminum plate, by the way.) I've added a video of the first game and what the components look like. Enjoy.

Pros
  • TWO SPEEDS: Play all your favorite 33-1/3 and 45 RPM records. It uses a die-cast aluminum disc with an anti-resonance coating.
Cons
  • Can be damaged
