Review on 🔌 Sabrent HDMI Extension Cable over Cat5/6 RJ45 Extender Adapter (Up to 200-Feet) with Power Adapter - HDMI-EXTC by Jeff Perez

Bought this to use on my bedroom TV with an HDTV receiver in the basement. The house was pre-wired with Siamese cable (coax 1-RG6, 1-cat5), so I decided to catch a new Cat5 cable, use it in combination with the existing one and everything will be fine. I crimped the RJ45 ends on both cables, connected all cables according to the instructions and. Nothing! All I got was a blue screen saying 'No connection'. I researched further and found that these types of converters/transformers can be picky about wire length, resistance, etc. I fished another Cat.5 using the same route as before. Again I crimped the ends to the new cat5, connected all the cables and. TA DAH! Nice clear HD picture. My guess is that the original setup didn't work because the cables used were different lengths, hence two different resistances. The cords I got hold of were about 25 feet long and the units worked great without the included power adapter. So if you decide to try something like this, make sure your cables are of similar length/resistance and you shouldn't have any problems.
