Great picture over 50ft Cat6

I use this to send an HDMI signal to another room. I split the output of our TiVo using a ViewHD 2 port splitter and routed the output from that unit to this HDMI extender. I'm using 50ft UltraFlat Cat6 Ethernet cables, which are great for running through walls or under carpets. The remote controlled TV supports up to 1080i and the picture on this TV is excellent. I can't say it's not directly linked to the source. The only criticism is a small gap between the receiver and the power supply…

Works great when installed correctly

Bought this to use on my bedroom TV with an HDTV receiver in the basement. The house was pre-wired with Siamese cable (coax 1-RG6, 1-cat5), so I decided to catch a new Cat5 cable, use it in combination with the existing one and everything will be fine. I crimped the RJ45 ends on both cables, connected all cables according to the instructions and. Nothing! All I got was a blue screen saying 'No connection'. I researched further and found that these types of converters/transformers can be picky…

Cable Matters!: Accessories & consumables

In short: Choosing the right cable is very important with this product! My setup: - Comcast HD cable box with HDMI output - Connected to HDMI extender - Receiving end of extender plugs into ONKYO A/V receiver - TV connected to receiver via HDMI* My TV supports 720p resolution, so the Resolution of the device does not * I also have an IR over HDMI adapter so I can control the box from another room through the underground under the house. This worked for a while (about an hour or so) before the…

Works better than expected!

I bought a Sabrent HDMI extender to extend the HDTV signal from my DirecTV HD DVR in my home gym to an additional 32" Sony Bravia HDTV in my break room. I am an avid sports fan and wanted to be able to watch two games at the same time in the break room or watch tv while the kids are playing XBOX 360 (the tv in the break room is almost never watched at the same time) The only problem was the cable from the home gym -DVR ran to wall mounted HDTV in recreation room. was about 75 feet. I did a…

Long range and easy connection

In my home theater, my projector is quite a distance from the home theater components themselves. I would guess this is true of many home theaters. When I built my home theater a few years ago, HDMI didn't exist, so I didn't have that type of cable running through my walls. Pushing (or pulling) the HDMI cable wasn't really an option as I don't have a spool of HDMI cable and ferrules or crimping tools and I didn't want to spend that much money on this device. However, using CAT 5e cables is a…

Cable counts! for audio and video accessories

I'm an avid sports fan and wanted to watch two games at once or watch TV in the break room while the kids played XBOX 360. Since the home gym TV was connected via composite cable, the HD DVR output HDMI output was available to feed the HD in the break room without purchasing another HD receiver (the home gym TV and the break room TV are almost…

fatal error (postal label) when shipping

I ordered 4 in total, 1 to start, then 3 more. The 1st and 1st of 3 from the second delivery have a serious defect, the RJ45 ports of both the sender and receiver are labeled the same ie "VIDEO” is on the left and "DDC” is on the right when CAT6 cables are connected between them. Sender and receiver according to the labels on the case, this will NOT work at all. CAT6 cables must be crossed. A newer batch (2 of 3 from the second batch) has had this issue fixed. Since it didn't work at all…
