Cable Matters!: Accessories & consumables

In short: Choosing the right cable is very important with this product! My setup: - Comcast HD cable box with HDMI output - Connected to HDMI extender - Receiving end of extender plugs into ONKYO A/V receiver - TV connected to receiver via HDMI* My TV supports 720p resolution, so the Resolution of the device does not * I also have an IR over HDMI adapter so I can control the box from another room through the underground under the house. This worked for a while (about an hour or so) before the picture and sound became unstable. I checked the cables with a cable tester and theoretically they should be fine. So I decided to upgrade to Cat 6a SSTP (Shielded Twisted Pair with No Gears). I ended up running these cables a little longer (in a slightly different route under the house) and they're about 60 feet long. Even though it was longer, it made a big difference. So don't buy cheap cables. An unsolved problem: Watching regular TV shows looks great, with no picture or sound distortions. However, for some reason, watching an OnDemand video causes problems. I can't understand why. It's always looked good when connected directly to a TV via HDMI, and it looks fine on a TV that reflects the signal but is connected via component video. If I find out what's going on I'll update this post.
