I just built ramps with this kit and am impressed. Using the best 2x10 parts I could find at Home Depot, I was able to build two strong, sturdy ramps in under an hour and use them to load my Troy Bilt 17.5hp lawn mower into my pickup truck. Since I don't plan to move the lawn mower often, I'm glad I didn't spend the money on custom metal ramps. The ends of the ramp appear to be aluminum. The processing is very high quality. The kit includes all the hardware to attach the ends to the tree. The instructions are line art but very easy to understand and follow. They include a table showing how long the boards need to be cut for a given height. The boards barely flexed when I loaded/unloaded the tractor. The kit also includes two rectangular self-adhesive rubber pads that stick to the underside of the ramp ends where they rest on the truck bed or tailgate. They prevent the ramps from slipping and can protect the truck from scratches. For added security, the kit includes four steel pins that go through the holes in the end plates. To do this, you need to drill four corresponding holes in the surface on which the panels will rest. I didn't use them because I didn't want to drill holes in the trunk. I have found that the rubber bumpers are sufficient to keep the ramps stable. If you're loading something heavier or hard to control, you may need pins. The instructions recommend sticking non-slip tape (not included) to the surface of the ramp. I did exactly that, but I think the tractor could handle the ramps without them. Although it looks professional. Overall I am completely satisfied with this purchase. The ramp kit is easy to use and works exactly as advertised. I would buy more products from this manufacturer at any time.
