Created one of my favorite pieces of art with this checkered burner
The handle gets very hot so I used cohesive foil to eliminate the burning sensation on my hand. I could work 12 straight hours to finish my project. I put it on a long session and had no problems with it. Overall it's fine for beginners and short sessions, a temperature controlled burner is the best investment. I ended up giving it to a friend who was interested in burning wood after seeing mine. Oh I really liked the conical nib that came with the pen but I only used it from this set, the nibs I used were from Wood Hollow.
