UPDATE: Bought 4 more packs, one opened to try - Excellent. The bars in each HEAVY pouch are individually wrapped in 12 airtight sleeves, so they stay fresh for days after opening the outer sleeve. weeks actually. I put them in a glass. Two weeks and in that time I've only used four bars. This amount is enough for at least 4 cocktails for breakfast and a few small snacks. About a quarter of a bar makes a great snack and I add the same amount crushed to smoothies with fruit, yogurt, ice water, instant coffee - awesome stuff! 3,000 calories / 12 bars = 250 each, so a quarter of a bar only contains about 62.5 calories by this calculation. Get advanced first aid training, CERT training from the local fire department, and some emergency kits. Now I'm back in Coastal Virginia to be prepared for local disasters (I survived the 2011 Virginia earthquake!) I ordered a double pack of Cinnamon and Coconut SOS rations. Yes --> COCONUT! Packages arrived IMMEDIATELY. It's all I can do to resist temptation. Oh the hell with that. I'll be ordering a few more once I've finished this review. Great stuff whether you want it for dessert or for emergencies! I'll open a bottle of Chianti so I can see C-span with you.
