Great product, great way to test ideas without a big expense!

These are great kits for beginners and intermediate riders. If you need a small quantity to test, this is the perfect way to buy. I particularly like the slow cure time of this silicone as I don't have to use a pressure vessel or degasser to rid the mold of air bubbles. I just tapped the sides of the acrylic mold for about a minute and let it cure overnight (normal curing time is 4 hours). The next morning I removed the original plasticine scalp and the result was a perfect silicone mold. I used smooth white resin to test mold the door handles I wanted for my workshop. I needed something big and strong to withstand the abuse that usually happens on the shop floor. Smooth-On Smooth-Cast 300 Smooth-Cast 300 Liquid Plastic Resin was the perfect answer, 2.5 minutes pot life and 10 minutes demold time was just right for me to get rid of all the little air bubbles that formed during mixing. Process. After shaping, quickly rinse in acetone and the bars are ready for painting. As you can see in the first picture the skull on the far right is the original sculpt, then the white resin skull, then the skull painted red and finally on the far left the final product with some burnt umber acrylic. highlight details. I need over 100 wands so I ordered a gallon of resin and more silicone so I can cast 4 at a time. I can even try bronze powders and onyx resins to see how they look. 100% recommend these products but pay attention to mixing instructions and shake resins well before mixing as they will settle over time.
