This FTDI cable did not initially work with Windows and the Radioddity GM 30 it is designed for. After two weeks of fiddling and emailing Radioddity tech support (5 stars) everything is working now. You must understand that Windows 10 disabled the previous drivers that worked with this cable. You need to add "Legacy Devices" (see "Device Manager") to see each COM port. Yes, it will have a terrible yellow triangle. Radioddity sent me a driver to solve this particular problem. Don't let Windows look for a driver from another source (turn off Wi-Fi). Once you add the driver, the yellow triangle will disappear when the cable is connected. THEN launch Radioddity's CRS software (available on their website). You now have an active serial port for cable detection. I could read and write on the radio. Be sure to save the original program BEFORE playing around with the settings. Then open CRS, add your privacy codes and CTCSS, the scanner channel you want to listen to, then record them on the radio and save them as a different file than the originally saved OEM settings. You can program another GM30 with the newly saved updated file.
