I bought this backup camera for a 2011 Tacoma with no camera. I wanted something that would keep the factory look and be just right. I also replaced the factory radio with a new Kenwood receiver with rear view camera function. I've installed car stereos many times, so I'm good with wiring. Hooking up this camera can be a daunting task for someone with no experience, but it was pretty easy. I connected the camera to the passenger side reverse light and connected the ground to the screw that goes into the bodywork that the tail light housing attaches to. I sanded the area to reveal shiny metal for a good base. I routed an RCA connector under the chassis on the passenger side and routed it through a hole in the firewall in the passenger footwell into the cabin. I covered the wire with protective plastic. The longest part of the job was running the RCA cable - it's not difficult, it just takes a lot of time. All in all, the job only took about two hours, and it was a waste of my time. I've been driving the car for a week now and it works great.
