Could have been more for Cat doors, railings and steps

For a typical 2x4 stud wall you will need to buy 2 of these. Then during installation. The two I bought could have been 1/4 inch longer. The designer seems to have forgotten that the 2x4 walls are lined with plasterboard or other material. I did it, but it could have been better.
