Review on Hillbilly Protective Gear 27042 Impact by Martin Alvarez

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Pretty good product, badly ruined by a stupid change made to save pennies(?).

This is my second pair of HillBilly shorts. I bought my first pair back when the company was still in its infancy and Ground Industries was still making mountain boards. Obviously some changes were made between the first and second pair. The mesh seems to have been made denser, probably to make it a little more durable and less abrasive on bare skin. Thumbs up. They also seem to have made a change that makes no sense other than probably saving a dime, and also incredibly annoying for anyone in the top half of all size ranges. The original pairs came with quite a long cord. It's long enough not only to be conveniently fastened, but also to tie with a double knot so it won't come loose on its own. The new pair has SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the length of the tip. You can tie a knot, but tying a double knot isn't really enough. Far more annoying is the fact that the length of the lace is so <*insert your favorite expression here*> that when you pull your shorts on and pull it down your hips, the lace gets pulled into the lace tunnel and you've got fish. this again before linking no. Or you have to remember to hold both ends while putting the shorts on. Forgetting this will leave you with that special feeling you get when you hear the front door bolting and locking as you remember the keys were left inside. I really wanted to give a 2 star rating but after a fight I realized I would put it in as revenge for <* name of body part normally covered by shorts front or back here *> doing a business decision would milk a few pennies at the consumer's expense. At the mid/high end of either size range, the drawstring can be so annoying that you may want to find a longer replacement. on brand <*insert favorite force*> new purchase. Not the best way to gain or maintain brand loyalty.
