Description of Hillbilly Protective Gear 27042 Impact

Drawstring closure. Great hip and tailbone protection for all action sports including skateboarding, longboarding, skiing, snowboarding, and mountain biking. Features lightweight EVA foam padding, plastic tail bone protector, and breathable mesh fabric. Drawstring for extra adjustability and secure fit. If you are on the cusp between two sizes choose the smaller size if you prefer a tighter fit, or the larger size if you prefer a looser fit. We recommended a snug fit to prevent pads from moving upon impact.

Your body will thank you!

As a snowboarder of 12 years of experience, I've had many falls, mostly on my butt. When I was shopping for gear this year I did a lot of searching for a good seat protector and saw that these shorts had a lot of good reviews. I took the plunge and ordered a pair. After 4 days of riding I can tell you with confidence that these shorts are the real deal. Now that I wasn't afraid of falling on my bum anymore, I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried out some rails, jumps, and turns that I…

Much more durable padding if/when you need it

I bought these along with other soft shorts to use for days in the mountains snowboarding and snowkiting (I've snowboarded 30+ days ). already in winter 2017). I've had a bad bruised tailbone in the past and needed protection when snowboarding in tougher conditions (ice etc). First off, I usually wear medium sized pants (I'm about 6ft 0in, 175lbs, I'm skinny), but I bought these shorts in a small size (which fits me). Given the amount of padding on these shorts I can't fit them under my ski…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Can't remember

I bought a small (S) thinking the waist would fit but these shorts are generally too big so I ordered XS instead If I *had* to wear them I could, but there are a few downsides Sagging in the shorts Lining is very durable and seems like it will take a big one Take the hit.Slightly too big around the legs and the coccyx pad doesn't quite line up for me although it will protect me a bit if need be Leave this pair.Otherwise they look ok considering the natural protrusions Padding is. My shirts are…

  • Some difficulty

This is my second pair of HillBilly shorts. I bought my first pair back when the company was still in its infancy and Ground Industries was still making mountain boards. Obviously some changes were made between the first and second pair. The mesh seems to have been made denser, probably to make it a little more durable and less abrasive on bare skin. Thumbs up. They also seem to have made a change that makes no sense other than probably saving a dime, and also incredibly annoying for anyone in…

Good for single wheel riding

I bought two of these along with several other brands. What I particularly like about these Impact Shorts is the protection, the quality of the padding and the fit. Compared to the other two brands I've tried, I feel more confident with this pair. They're not too bulky, which I really appreciate. They feel a bit odd to wear due to the extra bulk, but they wouldn't be as effective without padding. The padding feels dense and thick, with a hard outer layer that offers enough flexibility for my…

Comparing Hillbilly shorts to two other brand shorts

This is a comparison report as I bought 3 different lined shorts (the 3 I was able to get on Prime) to see which ones suit me best favor. TL; DR: Hillbilly was too bulky and expensive. The Docooler shorts won. Full Review: I have a 34" waist and was looking for something for skiing in the parks. That said, my priority was the padding of the buttocks, tailbone and thighs. The thigh padding didn't bother me. Here are three different shorts: Hillbilly Impact Shorts, Small, $65.22. Pros: very thick

  • Dope 🔥
