Review on 🔆 6-Pack Mr. Beams MB500A-WHT-06-00 LED Dusk to Dawn Stair Night Light, White (6 Count) by Olga Porter

The last step at the bottom of my stairs to the main hall is dangerous after dark. My whole family had to catch themselves from falling to that step from time to time, thinking we had reached the bottom of the hall. Well after 11 years on a Monday night I finally got the hang of it and twisted my right ankle, probably had a hairline fracture on the top of my right foot and a bad bruise on my left hip. Enough! I wanted a small, warm, unobtrusive light that would only illuminate the floor below that step, like dim lights on theater steps. I also wanted something that would use batteries instead of solar power or wired connectivity and would turn on automatically at night and not be activated by motion. This light is exactly what I wanted. I have 4 packs for another light at the top of the stairs to light up that first step and if I want to use them elsewhere or as a backup in case one breaks. They arrived within 2 days and took less than 3 minutes to assemble and install yesterday. I'm using AAA batteries and (based on another review) Command tape instead of the double-sided tape that came with the flashlight, so I can't yet rate the battery life and quality of the tape that came with it. The lantern also comes with a small screw for the center hole in the lantern holder for a more secure installation. Since the steps are currently carpeted (another hazard I'll fix) I placed a light on the plinth on the side and just below the last step. The light illuminates the floor for about half the length of the step, about 12-18 inches. If I wanted the entire area under the step to be lit I would add a second light on the other side or on the riser under the step (if there is no carpet or a longer screw is used to go through the carpet ), but my goal was to light the position of the floor just behind the step to indicate where the floor is, and this light does a great job. Last night after dark I looked over the second floor railing and saw that a light had come on and the floor under the edge of that last step was clearly visible on one side. Ideal. Next I install a second light just below the top deck! It is important to understand that these are intentionally dimmed step lights intended to illuminate a single step and not stair lights intended to illuminate the entire staircase or multiple steps. This company makes bigger, brighter lights that serve this purpose, so think about your needs before ordering!
