Description of πŸ”† 6-Pack Mr. Beams MB500A-WHT-06-00 LED Dusk to Dawn Stair Night Light, White (6 Count)

Dusk-to-dawn glow provides continuous safety lighting throughout the home. Sleep-friendly amber LED emits soft light at 600Nm, which has been shown to be less disruptive to sleep. The stair light's light sensor prevents activation in daylight, so the light is only on in darkness to help prolong battery life. Easy, wireless installation takes less than 5 minutes with the included mounting hardware or double-sided adhesive. Designed to get approximately 6 months of light on each set of batteries (not included) with average use of 8 hours a night. Instantly increases safety in areas like stairways, hallways, entryways, bathrooms and closets. Compact design allows for safety lighting anywhere. IPX4 rated for outdoor use.

Extremely useful for narrow old stairs

This house is over a hundred years old and has a narrow staircase that turns a corner almost halfway up. It's impossible to see the curve in the stair just because of the street light coming in through the windows below unless you turn on a very bright overhead light on the stair. I try not to turn on the lights so as not to wake me up in the middle of the night and of course I don't want to wake anyone in the house. These Dusk to Dawn stair lights are very helpful for people who need to go up…

Pros
  • Instantly increases security in areas such as stairs, hallways, lobbies, bathrooms and toilets.
Cons
  • So far, so good

Throw away instructions

Product works as advertised and meets my needs. It would have gotten 5 stars except the instructions are almost for a different product and are unusable. Battery installation is NOT possible with instructions as they will ask you to find a piece of tape to pull to open the door. There is no tape. In fact, no door is visible as they are posted. It took me 5 minutes to figure it out. You will need to slide the lantern left or right out of the bracket to access the lantern itself. As with most…

Pros
  • Compact design allows for safe lighting anywhere
Cons
  • Upgradeable

I bought a set of 4 Mr. Beams exactly a year ago after he found himself getting up in the middle of the night Dark had broken his toe. I also wanted some kind of self-contained lighting in case of an earthquake or power outage. I use them in my entryway and mount them low, just above the ledge, on the walls on either side. They emit a faint light, just enough to safely maneuver me down the hallway in the dark. That's a whole different order of magnitude, but I would compare it to the dim…

Pros
  • IPX4 rating for outdoor use
Cons
  • Upgrade available

Surprisingly good - lighting and ceiling fans

It's hard to find a simple dusk-to-dawn light on batteries. Almost everything that is available is powered by solar energy. The problem with solar powered flashlights is that they don't work well in places with little direct sunlight and the devices usually come with very poor quality batteries that fail within a week or two. Battery powered flashlights use standard batteries that last much longer. This light is not motion activated, which I find desirable. Light from dusk to dawn is intended…

Pros
  • The light sensor in the stairwell prevents daylight from being turned on, so the light only comes on when it's dark to save battery life.
Cons
  • Something's wrong

Exactly what I needed!

The last step at the bottom of my stairs to the main hall is dangerous after dark. My whole family had to catch themselves from falling to that step from time to time, thinking we had reached the bottom of the hall. Well after 11 years on a Monday night I finally got the hang of it and twisted my right ankle, probably had a hairline fracture on the top of my right foot and a bad bruise on my left hip. Enough! I wanted a small, warm, unobtrusive light that would only illuminate the floor below…
