Well done ;): Meat

I've never bought this type of device but I'm impressed. The carrying case is well made, everything fits comfortably in it. Color coding on probes and connectors is very convenient. Cable winders keep your cables organized. Probes and wires are all metal, so don't worry about cheap stuff that will melt at high temperatures (although there is Teflon cable inside the stainless steel braided cable, so the manual warns that the cable and probe should be kept away from fire). So far I've used it up to 400F and haven't had any issues. Accuracy is top notch, within 1 degree Fahrenheit, at least for the freezing to boiling range, compared to my calibrated traceable thermometer. It didn't matter which port or probe was used. They all gave the same readings under the same circumstances, so you can be sure you're getting accurate readings no matter what sensor you choose or where you plug it in. Temperature readings stabilize in 6 seconds. The transmitter display updates the temperature values every 2 seconds. The receiver display updates the time values every 6 seconds. Two things I would like to improve: 1) Better recognize which sensor is selected when changing sensor settings. A photo of the orange backlit receiver display shows where "PROBE 1" is shown in the upper left corner of the orange display. When you press the PROBE button, this rather small number changes. I'd rather have a check box or a flashing P1.2) Transmitter and receiver protected from rain. The manual says they should be protected from rain, but my outdoor cooking area is uncovered and I don't want unexpected summer rain to damage this excellent appliance.

Pros
  • It seems everything is so far
Cons
  • Stupid
