I received the switch to work properly. BUT there were no directions. The letters on the old and new switch were different. Circuit diagram found on the internet. So now I'm happy with the new switch. the old switch for glow plugs was g1 and g2 --- the glow plugs for the new switch were R1 and R2. Once I understood that, the work went much better. other wires were marked differently. After finding the schematic on the internet I was able to get the job done properly. The new switch was slightly larger but still fit in the dash and YES the switch is for a diesel engine with an outboard glow plug position. I would give the switch a maximum score of 5 if it came with a notice to connect a new switch.
