The hat did it!
Hey I just bought this gas cap to deal with the evaporator check engine code. I put the cap on and rode over 100 miles (I had to anyway). I saved the hat for the morning when I went on a trip and after a few hours the CEL went out. Good coverage. Did the job for my 1998 Toyota Camry V6.
