I have used these lamps twice, in two different places, both with great success. The problem I had was that I couldn't install lighting on the stucco ceiling or most walls (in a rented apartment), so I was stuck with lamps that I could hang on the wall myself while plugging into a standard outlet. Once I found these pendant lights (purchased separately), I tried a variety of light bulbs—traditional incandescent, LEDs, and these halogen bulbs that fit into a standard outlet. These bulbs were the only ones powerful enough to light my artwork from across the room and also warm enough to give a very nice warm tone. They worked so well I worked with my mom to install the same setup at her shop. and they work great. I think they heat up to the same level as a traditional incandescent bulb, maybe a little less (z kept buying them for their other unique qualities and decided they were worth the cost to me and my artwork.
