These knives are exactly what I was hoping for. My eight year old daughter loves to cook and does her best to help in the kitchen. I'm a protective father and I'm careful not to let her do too much. Knife work is high on the list of things I didn't want to allow! I found these and they got good reviews so I gave them a try as a birthday present. It must have been her favorite gift. She can use them easily (quality, comfortable grip - actually I like to feel better than some of my regular knives). To be honest they cut a lot better than I expected given that they seem to live up to their promise of not cutting leather (I haven't seen myself or anything but I definitely did my best). to try them out a bit). So far they've worked well with fruits, veggies, and other assorted foods (my daughter even uses them on cakes when she makes them). Very happy with this purchase.
