Review on Poit Digital Meter Tester Resolution by Johnny Wheat

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Mine lasted a month: questionable durability

My Poit pH meter worked exactly one month. Coincidentally, it stopped working immediately after closing the return window. These are good counters for the price, simply because it doesn't seem like there are many better alternatives at a reasonable price. There's an Apera brand for <$40 that claims to be better, but I haven't tried it yet. It looks like the same technology (just made better) so I was hesitant to spend 3x more if they don't last long. The best seem to cost well over $100. This poit could be a good fallback, but if it's your only one, don't be surprised if one day it stops working, forcing you to look for a replacement. Tip: If you have trouble with accuracy, look close to the electrode. There may be a bubble inside that appears to be distorting the reading. If you shake it slightly, it will release the bubble and become accurate later. It arrived calibrated and has never needed calibration during its short lifespan. I really wanted to love this pH meter but unfortunately mine didn't last long.

Pros
  • Fast and Accurate: No need to mess with color charts or messy test strips, this meter delivers fast and accurate results. It's with 0.01 resolution, 0.05 accuracy, 0-14 full pH measurements! And this pH meter is factory calibrated. And if the product has problems, users can perform calibration to solve the problem.
