Review on Renewed Garmin vívoactive 3 Music GPS Smartwatch with Music Storage - Black, Supports Spotify by Oscar Ferrell

It promises so much - why such a complicated interface!

I had high hopes for this watch but it is so buggy I spent hours trying to get the music functions to work. I have a high tolerance for complex technical devices, this has really tested my patience like no other device before. Today, for example, I spent almost 30 minutes plugging in my headphones. Yesterday's task was to download Spotify podcasts. The day before I had to connect the watch to my iPhone which resulted in me having to reinstall the app. Even if the music and pairing functions work, the interface is very complex. To switch the heart rate monitor on and off, four different consecutive menus must be clicked! And even finding different menus for different functions isn't always clear - sometimes you'll have to swipe the watch face, sometimes you'll have to press the side button, sometimes you'll have to hold the side button for two seconds, sometimes you'll have to die through the watch face. Additionally, the music functions - the reason for this watch's unique appeal - are also complex, and there's no easy syncing with an iPhone. You must use either your computer or the web app to download different types of content (you must use your computer for iTunes content and the app for Spotify content). If it works, it's good, but unfortunately such cases are rare. The watch appears to be designed to also support a subscription-based Spotify account, making syncing easier and giving preference to both Spotify and iHeart radio in the watch menu. I was about to send it back but I was finally able to sort it out. I never had this problem with my old Apple Watches. Compared to the Apple Watch, this one has a lot longer battery life, those music features, and the fact that the display doesn't go to sleep like the Apple Watch. In general, I'm at a loss: why did Garmin release a product with such a complex interface!?
