Great light with poor mounting system

This light is great and just what I wanted. It has many mode options for personal preference. I use Daybright mode almost exclusively and it works exactly as I expected. It is very bright and noticeable even in the very bright Arizona sun. The battery life is definitely in line with my expectations as I drive around 12 hours between charges. The only problem with this light is the fastening system, which is a rubber band. At least one other reviewer commented on the failure of the rubber band, and I thought that was absolutely correct. While the elastic band looks great at first glance, it doesn't hold up well. Having only owned this flashlight for a few months, I took it off to charge and noticed that the rubber band was on the verge of catastrophic failure. Given the very short lifespan of the elastic, I had no plans to use the second elastic that came with the same size. Instead I've been looking for a better solution and so far I've found it in the form of my wife's hair tie. The hair band is almost perfect and at the moment seems to be much more durable than the elastic band that came with it. The hair band isn't a particularly tight fit to the seatpost and the light can go off center, but on the plus side there is very little stress on the hair band and I don't see it failing for long periods of time. Conclusion: buy. this light and then attach it to the seatpost with a hair tie so you don't lose it along the way. If you really want to be on the safe side, you can buy hair ties, which are also very cheap.
