Review on Westcott Purpose Value Stainless Scissors by Noel Schmits

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Suitable for simple scissors.

What can I say? This is your standard pair of scissors. They're perfect for opening packages, removing labels etc. They have a nice sharp blade and are quite heavy so I expect them to last a while. These aren't heavy kitchen shears by any means, but then again, they didn't even cost $30 plus :). Great for crafts, although I wouldn't use them as fabric scissors. However, they should be good for cutting paper, rope, yarn, or thin plastic. Good table scissors. The big finger hole where you have to put all your fingers except thumb is a bit small. I have thin fingers and find it difficult to squeeze them together (I can only fit three fingers) so if you have fat fingers only your index and middle finger will probably fit. I'm really not sure if that's a big deal because if you're trying to cut something that requires a really strong grip (like cardboard or thick plastic) these scissors are probably the wrong choice. Basically a good cheap choice for everyday shears, don't expect them to perform like expensive fabric shears, kitchen shears or gardening shears, they aren't.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Good but not great
