Not what I was hoping for at all!1. It says it's retractable. When I've looked at other sliding gates, they roll around the post when you pull. It's not like this. I'm not exactly sure what they mean by retractable, but it's not! 2. It's not strong. When installing I used the included hooks for my wall. I attached one end and when I tried to attach the other end (with very little tension) the hook broke in half rendering it unusable. I liked that there are extra hooks! When I removed the broken one from the wall, a piece of my wall came off with it (probably from my rent deposit!) Plus: The adhesive is very strong. Cons: The adhesive is stronger than the plastic the hook is made of. If a child or pet put pressure on it after installation, I don't think it would really hold.3. Portable? I think if you want to use extra hooks/break walls elsewhere then I think it's portable. I mean the trellis and posts are pretty small but they need hooks to actually use them. Too bad, but I personally go the other way and come back this way.
