I wanted to share what helped me install this glass replacement on my 2011 MacBook Pro. Before installing, turn on your computer and turn off sleep mode to keep the screen on while the heat from the LED helps soften the adhesive holding the glass to the frame. Also, NEVER use metal objects to remove adhesive residue on the frame. SLOW and careful light scraping with some plastic works best. My advice is simple - DO IT SLOWLY WITHOUT DISTRACTIONS and the whole process shouldn't take more than 1 hour. Just be sure to use either playing cards or old plastic credit cards when gently removing the old broken glass to keep the old glass from sticking and gradually work your way around the frame. There are many repair sources online that mention a heat gun that is too hot for an LED screen. A simple hair dryer will do, but I've found it's best to leave the screen on. Much luck!
