Review on Taylor TruTemp: Dig into 🌑️ Precision Cooking with Digital Thermometer and Alarm by Judy Sena

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great digital thermometer!

I have 5 of these devices, two of which I have given away. The price is great and the update rate is 1 second for quick measurements and I am very satisfied with the product/supplier. I use it for other purposes, like checking the temperature of a radiator, and my favorite thing to do is attach a long stick to the probe to check how the compost heap is doing. It only uses one battery which will last for many months despite being always on. One thing I did was seal the interface between the sensor and the silicone case with RTV silicone sealant which is commonly used to seal bathrooms etc. This sealant has an operating temperature of 450 F so should withstand. I didn't want it getting into the probe and damaging the sensor, hence the sealant. It's also measured in either F or C, which is a nice feature. The high/low alarm is handy, and making caramel or other candy is more fun when you can easily see the temperature instead of squinting at the numbers on a typical glass candy thermometer that's usually covered with what you're reading Cook. . Get one of these and you'll have a hard time going back to other thermometers!

Pros
  • Durable stainless steel rod
Cons
  • Not as good as it says
