They're not as effective as I was hoping, but they're a big improvement. I have benches at the dining table and on carpet it is very difficult to get them out when I sit or stand up from the table. In fact, I almost fell backwards a few times due to the high center of gravity and the friction of my feet on the carpet. When I installed them the benches pulled out a lot easier but were a bit more difficult to sit on, although they were much better than the original setup. The pads are the perfect size for my needs and are barely visible on the bench legs. When I installed them I used sandpaper to roughen up the surface and remove anything that might be preventing the backing from sticking well. . Also, after sanding the bottom of the leg, I cleaned the bottom with rubbing alcohol to remove sawdust and keep the surface clean. After letting the legs dry for 10-15 minutes, I placed the pads on each leg of the bench.
