Although the product name says 12 x 12 inches, this rounds up. As stated in the detailed description, the actual area is 0.97 square feet per tile. IOW, round up the number of boxes if the area calculated at 1 SF per tile is close to a full box (which also gives you extra tiles from the same color batch). I used 9.5 squares when the calculated area was 9 squares. Out of 10 boxes I had 2 loose screws (the screws hold the canvas to the board) dangling inside the boxes, no need to worry. Out of 10 boxes, 3 boxes came with broken boxes, but the tiles inside were fine. The fit and finish of the tiles are excellent. Leave a 1/2 inch open border for expansion if the finished deck will be in direct sunlight. Use a compound/trex blade (10" 72 tooth or 12" 80 tooth triple ground) for cutting tile. The tile conforms to a slightly uneven surface, but the base must be rigid.
