7 days in use and we are very satisfied. We only drink bottled water, which we purchase in bulk from Costco. Due to the current pandemic, we decided to try this simple Apex countertop filter system. We enjoyed it every day and thought "why didn't we do this sooner". **Extend the life of your filter** When I installed the system, which was fairly simple and straightforward, I noticed that when bypassing the filter, the water flows through the aerator like regular tap water. When you start running tap water into the apex filter, it will not flow through the aerator. The aerator has two functions: it prevents splashing water and acts as a dirt filter. Because the water entering the apex filter does not flow through the aerator, any debris ends up in your filter. With debris the size of sand and some even larger, the filter cartridge is prone to clogging or poor performance, which can reduce the life of your filter. ** This is how I made the aerator body. Then I took out the filter screen and put it on the apex faucet adapter and then put the ring on the screen. The tap water is now passed through a sieve and coarse dirt is filtered out. No more dirt getting into the apex filter, allowing it to perform at peak performance and extend its life, no more premature blockages or failures. Check out my detailed unboxing in the video section of this product. **To Prospective Buyers** If you think or know that the potential location of your filter block will be in direct contact with sunlight, DO NOT purchase clear or translucent paints as these are prone to algae growth regardless of brand. Buy solid colors (black, white, and chrome) that sunlight cannot penetrate.
