Review on πŸ”© KREG SDK C2SS 100: Highly-Durable 2 Inch Coarse Stainless Screws for Superior Performance by Draven Invert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I used a 1/4 impact wrench to drive the screws in and had the most success driving the screw with one of these.

I used a Kreg Deck Jig on my 10 x 20 porch with composite decking. The template itself worked perfectly. Hold the jig tight while drilling. Modernization fell on a screwdriver or even more, up to the retaining ring. The shank screw is too short and too soft for steel. What happens is that the ring slides up the driveshaft after only a few bolts are tightened. I removed the collar and placed a small flat spot on the screwdriver. I also went to my local hardware store and bought a new set screw that was longer so the screw would make contact with any available threads on the depth coupler. With a little modification, I was able to drive 700 screws without the depth collar rising up the screwdriver shaft. I put a small piece of tape 1/8 inch above the collar depth so I can track the position of the collar. When screwing I used my 1/4 impact wrench and had the most success screwing with one hand on the jig and the other hand on the screwdriver. Once you've started, take your hand off the bracket and screw the screw into the depth collar. After screwing in the screw, the jig lifts up a little, helping to prevent wear on the screw head and screwdriver.

Pros
  • Stainless steel for maximum rust and corrosion resistance
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
