Well, I've been looking for the 85mm f1.4 lens for my D810 for a long time. The obvious choice would be the Nikkor version, but the GAHD DAM costs $1500! Who has so much money to burn? Unfortunately, I'm not that blessed. So I settled on a Sigma Art lens as I already have a 35mm and a 50mm, but it's still around $1200! Yes, I may have picked the wrong hobby, but we're not here to judge, are we? So this is where this Rokinon/Samyang comes to the rescue. At less than half the price of the Sigma version, this is definitely a steal! Plus there's autofocus! Obviously this is a 'new' feature for this company. Apparently my financially irresponsible self bought it right away. Two days later the package arrives and I immediately slap it in the camera and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWY! God this thing is amazing! SHARPNESS! COLOR! I couldn't believe the images that came out of this poor guy's lens. The bokeh is insanely good for what it is! Awesome off-white backgrounds! So creamy it's almost just a gradient! Even with a shallow depth of field, the subject is incredibly sharp. I was surprised. The autofocus is also convincing. First, it's almost silent. So quiet I thought it broke, but before I knew it, BOOM was instantly focused! Did I mention I was blown away?! However, the focus is in the live view. it is fur. But that's to be expected, as the Nikon DSLR's real-time autofocus sucks anyway. We Nikon users are going old school with this optical viewfinder, as opposed to younger folks with their electronic viewfinders. So videographers stay away! But then again, are you really a videographer if you use Nikon? This lens is also much smaller and lighter than other offerings, which is great for your aging body! No back pain today! Mostly metalized plastic on the outside, which suits me perfectly. He even has a red ring! You can lie to people and say you have a Canon L lens adapter, so now you're a pro! All in all, this lens is a great addition to your line of full-frame lenses! It produces photos that are as good as those fancy thousand-dollar lenses. If those bougie kids are fooling around about your third-party lens, ignore them because they're a bunch of fools. Remember that more money doesn't make you a better photographer, but less money does! Poor people unite! uuuu!
