This scale worked well after first use. It toggles between 4 weighing options: grams, ounces, milliliters and pounds and ounces. It has a touch screen interface; no real buttons. The power button is very responsive, it actually turns on by showing it very close which is good as you don't have to fiddle with it to turn it on. Light pressure is required to switch between the units of measurement. You can turn the bowl on and then turn it off and then press the power button again to reset the machine to zero so you don't accidentally include the weight of the container in your measurements. Comes with 2 AAA batteries, not original. The battery compartment was very convenient to use - no screwdriver needed. It measures approximately 10 inches by 6 1/4 inches. An additional advantage is attractiveness and harmony. It would be nice if it had to be kept on a countertop.
