Although the picture is blue, the actual product is clear. I wouldn't say clear as glass, but a little cloudy when new. After you've drilled your first drywall hole, expect the transparency to decrease slightly due to scratches, stains, etc. caused by dust and cleaning. This reduction in transparency makes it slightly more difficult to align the drill/bit with the cut mark. I solved this problem by first drilling a pilot hole the same diameter as the pilot bit on my hole saw and then using that as the main hole saw pilot with a combination pilot bit and dust cover. This product does an excellent job of removing dust while drilling. Because of the transparency I only give 4 to 5 stars. However, I'm not clear if there are other hole saw dust shields on the market that don't have the transparency issue that this product has.
