Review on MHDMAG Double Sided Magnet Fishing Kit With Grappling Hooks And Gloves, 760Lbs Combined Strength Super Strong Retrieval Neodymium Magnets With 100FT Rope For River Magnetic Recovery Salvage Fishing by Sean Santhanam

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Decent for the price

Just got my kit a few days ago, and on a scale of 1-10 I'd rate it overall maybe a 5.5.This kit includes all the basics you'll need to start magnet fishing except a carrying case (very important to have) and thread lock (you're sure to lose the magnet after just a few throws unless you buy it seperately for $6-12).The magnet itself is sturdy, but doesn't seem to pick up anywhere close to 440 pounds each side as advertised. While dry and flush the magnet struggled to pick up a 30 pound iron weight (6% of it's supposed maximum) which was pretty surprising, and often times will not pick something up unless it is directly on-top of it.The 1/4 inch dark red rope was frayed right out of the package and was pretty low quality so that was dissapointing, but I knew I would have to buy a better quality rope anyways at some point so I can deal with it.The grappling hook is really great, definitely the star of the package. Very sturdy but if you plan on climbing get a different rope because the one included may not hold you.I'm not sure if I just went in with high expectations or I just severely underestimated how 440 pounds of strength per side would be, but I had higher hopes. This magnet seems good enough if you're looking to picking up some fishing hooks small rocks, or your knife if you drop it in the water. Definitely not for anything more robust.

Pros
  • Hoists & Accessories
Cons
  • The grappling hooks may not be able to handle heavy debris
