Honestly it's a good to way to start, but these magents are pretty weak and don't really pull much up. I bought a 2,000lbs mag and a 10MM rope after my first outing and am heading back to a spot where I grabbed on to something, but just could get more than a wiggle on it until the mag broke off.We did buy two sets and my son lost his on his second throw, but I recovered it with my mag, so there's something.

This bundle is great for anyone who wants to try magnet fishing. The magnet is great, it’s a good size and it’s pretty strong, i think the rating is probably correct at 500ish pounds. The grappling hook is decent too. The rope is good, but I might upgrade it to something stronger. I recommend taping up the rope near the carabiner with electrical tape to reinforce it against bumps, rocks, etc. The gloves are ok and will work in a pinch. This is definitely worth buying and is a great value

The Magnet is great , the rope is strong but looks weak ,you think it will snap under heavy load.BUT I'll tell from first hand , I slung the 2lb magnet as hard as I possibly could and didn't realize I wasstanding on the rope , when it snapped back and did not break I knew then it was ok.

Untangle the rope before you go out. Gone out twice with this and so far it has done its job. Gloves smelled funky but most gloves do. I have large hands and they fit fine. I’m using them as a back up pair.

This is a cool magnet. this is a VERY strong magnet. Put it on a 20# piece of metal and had a very difficult time getting it off. Only concern I have is if it catches something really solid and heavy I don’t know if it will release or it could be extremely difficult to get back. Thinking about using a bigger rope than what it came with, thinking the rope is not going to be strong enough and will break on me.

Got it stuck to the bottom of a metal bridge, was a nightmare to get off, rope almost ripped completely and carabiner bent to hell. Strong magnet but it has to be 100% on big things, or it wont stay on

Heavy duty for sure and feels plenty strong but sure doesnt seem to pick up items that I am finding in the exact same place with a home made 'nail sweeper' magnet tied to an old rope. Kinda disappointing.

Only rating a 3, only because have not had chance to use yet. Very nice product, great starter kit, everything you'll need. Can't wait to get out and try it. Will update review when so.

Worth it not a huge magnet but it's powerful and perfect for my first one! Was kinda scared to get screwed. Thank yall for doing me right. I don't have pics cause I'm lazy but take my word for it. It's all worth it for sure!

Sturds product but it sometimes has a difficult time pulling average sized items from the water. Maybe I'm using it wrong? I can feel the magnet grab items In the water but it will release it before I can pull it to the surface. I suppose that's what the grappling hook is for?

Turns out refrigerators can be very slippery - this magnet is super powerful, but does tend to slide down when stuck to a fridge. This is not really a good measure of it's strength because the finish of the fridge is slippery and the magnet is kind of heavy. It can pick up very heavy objects, unless they have a non-stick coating - then it might slip off :-).

This is a terrible magnet. We never tried it magnet fishing because we couldn’t get anything to stick to it here at home. revain would not take it back. The only good thing is that we were able to use everything else in the kit.

I haven't used it yet, but in just physical comparison to my 750 that just burned in a car fire, I'm getting way more for the similar money.

Just got my kit a few days ago, and on a scale of 1-10 I'd rate it overall maybe a 5.5.This kit includes all the basics you'll need to start magnet fishing except a carrying case (very important to have) and thread lock (you're sure to lose the magnet after just a few throws unless you buy it seperately for $6-12).The magnet itself is sturdy, but doesn't seem to pick up anywhere close to 440 pounds each side as advertised.While dry and flush the magnet struggled to pick up a 30 pound iron…

I’m very happy with the kit as a whole.even the gloves have amazing grip and have held up to repeated use. The line has started to fray a bit at the 3-4ft mark from repeated retrievals over a railing but is nowhere near failing.

Bought this set along with two others from other suppliers to go magnet fishing with my 9yo daughter. We had a lot of fun finding random things and cleaning up the environment while we did it.This was the only one I bought that came with a grapple and it came in super handy pulling a shopping cart up from a creek onto a bridge.The carabineers that come with the kit are both not a great quality, and also magnetic, so they stick to the magnet. I recommend picking up a couple stainless steel quick

This was a good gift for my fiancé for a new hobby for us to do together. We haven’t gotten anything exciting out of the water and I can’t vouch for the weight that it’s rated for, but we definitely have fun. And he found other uses for the magnet too.

There’s no way that this magnet is a strong as the description says however it is a pretty strong magnet that works well. Comes with all the supplies that you need and the end boxing and prep is very easy to do. I purchased a neodymium permanent magnet in the past that was much stronger than this one granted I paid $120 for that magnet and this one cost me $30

Perfect set for the beginning and weekend hobbiest. This is my first set and I've recommended it to friends. I found items on my first adventure out.The magnet will get scratched depending on what's in the water. That's going to happen, can't prevent that.Great product and value.

Bought this for my husband he loves it. Just be careful if you are throwing off a bridge with metal guard rails. He had a heck of a time getting it loose. Lol
