I was disappointed with this product after trying different ways of charging and how long it would hold a charge. I've come to the conclusion that if we ever face an unexpected emergency, we could be in trouble. It looks like charging the wall charger is the best way to make sure it's ready. I placed it on a table near the window and the charging light stayed on when the sun shone through the window. So I assumed that this maintains the charge - WRONG. The sound quality is what you would expect from a vintage Transit portable radio - something you really don't want to rely on except in an emergency.
