Although the unit is MUCH smaller than I used it I imagined it works well. I live in an area with frequent thunderstorms and power outages. I think every home should have one of these for communications, lighting and security. There was an added bonus I hadn't noticed before: it has a tiny port for charging Android phones. This is necessary in emergency situations. Great little gadget at a great price.

I was disappointed with this product after trying different ways of charging and how long it would hold a charge. I've come to the conclusion that if we ever face an unexpected emergency, we could be in trouble. It looks like charging the wall charger is the best way to make sure it's ready. I placed it on a table near the window and the charging light stayed on when the sun shone through the window. So I assumed that this maintains the charge - WRONG. The sound quality is what you would expect

My radio arrived today and I am very happy with it. This big sound is very impressive for a small radio. It can even be easily put in a jacket pocket. Not sure why some reviews downplay it. It fully meets my needs. I like the solar charge and/or crank option.
