My 7 year old is hooked! We love all kinds of Super Mario games and games for two. The extra remote that comes with it is awesome. My 5 year old daughter enjoys being player 2 although she is not as technologically advanced as her sister and has a harder time counting jumps and such. The battery could have lasted longer, but for 300+ games and at least 2 hours of continuous gameplay, the value is amazing! It can be played while charging. There is a headphone jack, but I haven't tried it. If my kids broke it I would buy it again although it's a fairly light but solid construction. I even like to sit back and play with them. The screen is excellent and lights up to play at night. Haven't tried it outdoors but I think in the shade or in a car like most screens it will be fine. This is a Gameboy Advance comparable screen with its own backlight. There is a volume control, which is very necessary as the sound is loud at maximum volume. All games have old school graphics which I really like. I couldn't find the game in the product image and am wondering if this type of graphic is available on this system or if it's just an image that was posted. It has no storage capabilities. So if you die in Super Mario, for example, you have to start over. This can be frustrating for older kids, but for my little ones it gives them the experience of video game history and practicing hand-eye coordination in a number of game types and styles. In any case, I am happy with my purchase and will buy again if it breaks or is lost! I will probably buy one when my 2 and 3 year olds reach that age.
